Work Description: Plumbing work with sump pump
Comments: Plumber told me (after being an hour late) that the price I was quoted was too low and he needed to up the price as the part was more expensive. I had already taken time off from work and needed to get this done as I was starting to get water in my basement. . Shame on them for not honoring the original quote. I will never use them again.

Work Description: Sump Pump Functioning; Difficulty of Flushing toilet.
Comments: Good afternoon, I made the mistake in contacting Plumb Pros to come out and assess a problem I was having with the toilet handle in my master bath with regard to it sticking, and a sump pump issue. Plumb Pros arrived in the time frame stated. The plumber initially looked at my sump pump and determined it needed to be replaced. I was quoted one price on the phone, but a different price upon the plumber arriving. To add to this, I was told that a "sump pump" was not readily available, but he thought he could possibly get one from a supplier. After hearing the price, I elected not to replace the pump at that time. We proceeded to my master bath when the toilet was very difficult to flush. The plumber sat of my toilet, lifted the top and began to assess the problem. Before I knew it, he had removed the outside handle of my toilet, the flush valve (7.98) at Home Deport and a Flush Ring ($1.98) Home Deport. I immediately stopped him and inquired as to how much he was going to charge for that service, especially, after I had NOT authorized him to actually do anything short of assessing the problem. At that point, I was told he had been there for almost an hour and it was going to cost me $89.00. I informed him, I was told that there was NO FEE for service calls if no work was performed. I, in turn said $89.00 for exactly what? At that point, he laid my flush valve on my bathroom counter top and began to walk out. He began to 'barter" on a price, saying he could give me $25.00 off and the best he would do is $65.00. I emphasized that I had not authorized him to work on anything. I proceeded to ask are you going to leave my toilet in that state. He reluctantly said he would fix it. He put the $1.98 flush ring in and the flush valve back in place. He was compensated for his services but I will no longer use Plumb Pros again. I was very disappointed in the integrity of their service. I felt after they didn’t get the sump pump job for the higher amount, he was merely trying to get any amount he could from me. I'm at least glad he didn't leave my toliet disassembled and it's working fine. That was the highlight of the service. I would also note, the serviceman was pleasant for the most part. Respectfully submitted, Ms. Jefferies
