Work Description: Added a tee and extension pipe in the existing water heater gas line to provide gas to a clothes dryer. The water heater sits right next to the washer hookups, and the dryer goes right next to that. wall ------------------------------------------------ water htr | washing machine | dryer
Comments: Fast response for the estimate, and the job completed quickly. I had to look up codes online because he left his book in another vehicle, but that was OK. The extension pipe ended behind the washing machine, instead of closer to the dryer. After he left, I realized that the end (pointing downward) was about 1" from the washing machine water outlet, so it couldn't be used. I called that night (Fri, about 6pm), but got voice mail. Saturday morning, I called again and he answered. He came back in the afternoon to cut it back (up) a few inches, and left immediately afterward. Then, when I installed the flexible gas line, I realized that there is almost no slack for moving the dryer to clean. It wasn't worth calling back for that. It was $200, which I'm guessing is fair.
